Dear Parishioners, God is good. This parish assignment has been an answer to so many of my prayers. I am so grateful to God and for all of you for these five years as well as the summer assignment here as a transitional deacon. This is a chapter of my life I will remember with great fondness. Through this ministry it has been faith affirming to see clearly how God works in our lives. This has often been evident in surprising ways. It has been a blessing to be with you during baptisms, weddings, funerals, Masses, blessings, and the everyday moments of life. Through the Church I have been able to meet so many amazing people. With that said, I want to thank the clergy, parish staff, and the many volunteers of the parish. It has been wonderful collaborating with you all. Please know of my continued prayers for all the parishioners of Star of the Sea, St. Christopher, St. Louis, Sacred Heart/St. Dominic, St. Peter, and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parishes. I will continue to pray for Fr. Seamus, Fr. Cyprian, Fr. Augustine, and the staff. My prayer is that you all seek and find the love of God in the sacramental life of the Church. Please spend time in honest prayer with God, both speaking and listening, and there will be great peace and understanding. We have a lot to be hopeful for. My new assignment will be as a hospital chaplain at Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. Please reach out if you or someone you know is a patient and would welcome a spiritual care visit. Please keep me in prayer, and I will keep you in prayer. Thank you all for everything! May God bless you always, Fr. Kevin Upham
