The Catholic Parishes of the Portland Peninsula & Islands are seeking a Director for the newly established Portland Catholic Center for Faith. This exciting, newly created position will plan, coordinate, and carry out a wide variety of faith outreach, formation and enrichment activities for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the other parishes of the Portland Peninsula and Islands.
Reporting directly to the Pastor/Rector, the Director of the Center for Faith is a full time, exempt position that primarily works from the Pastoral Offices at the Cathedral in a collaborative ministerial environment with clergy and other pastoral staff.
Successful candidates possess a degree in Catholic theology and enthusiastically support the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church. Experience in pastoral ministry and/or education is preferred. Training and mentoring will be part of the orientation process.

Position Description: Exempt, 40hrs/wk.
Reports to: Rector/Pastor.
PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THIS POSITION
Under the direction of the Rector/Pastor and in collaboration with parish clergy, staff and volunteers, the Director of the Portland Catholic Center for Faith plans, coordinates, and carries out faith formation and enrichment activities for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the other parishes of the Portland Peninsula and Islands.
MAJOR POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions)
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in theology from a Catholic institution or other certificate and/or training in Catholic theology preferred.
Extensive experience teaching, planning, and coordinating faith formation activities preferred.
Proficiency in and/or ability to learn Microsoft Office software required.
